The production of paper rolls begins with the creation of paper pulp – which can be generated from wood fibre or recycled materials – continues with the production of large paper reels through the processing of various cellulose mixtures – differing both in terms of origin and the type of processing they have undergone – and ends with the mother paper reels being turned into the finished products.
At daina carta specifically, in a nutshell, the paper roll production cycle starts with loading the pulper with the bales of cellulose and ends with weighing and labelling the rewound paper rolls.
The European tissue market – paper rolls intended for hygienic and sanitary use – represents around 10% of the European paper and cardboard market and about 23% of the global market, worth roughly €10 billion and growing by around 2% a year. Approximately 75% of turnover is sold to domestic consumers through stores, while the rest is sold to the AFH – Away From Home – channel i.e. the B2B market. daina carta slots perfectly into this area. Our tissue paper rolls are offered to wholesalers and companies and are designed to meet the needs of a variety of fields, such as industries, offices, hotels, restaurants and hospitals.
Italy is the leading country in Europe, also due to its extraordinary ability to innovate as regards the product and environmental protection. daina carta is a tissue manufacturer with a particular focus on environmental issues. To this end, we have decided to support the procurement of raw materials derived from wood from sustainably-managed forests, as well as to raise awareness amongst our customers regarding the use of end products made using these materials.
